These two rope walks date from the second half of the 16th century to the beginning of the 17th century, after which they were demolished. At the beginning of the 17th century, houses were built along Torenstraat. Later in the 17th century, the canal along Torenstraat was filled in. A cesspit was found that was rich in finds, including ceramics, glass, leather and textiles. The material dates from the third half of the 17th century.
