Notes: Drayton Hall is an 18th century historic site located along the Ashley River in Charleston, SC. Drayton Hall’s distinctive Palladian architectural style featured a five-part design that included the main house, two flanking dependency buildings, and two connecting colonnades. Both flanker buildings remained standing for over one hundred and fifty years until they were dismantled around the turn of the 20th century. The Bartmann jug fragments were found in and around the north flanker building that is thought to be the 18th century washhouse.
The site also has an earlier 17th century component and an Indigenous occupation going back 2000 years.
