Archaeological Context: Sealed feature: Sealed feature

Notes: In 1960, a shipwreck found near Dronten was examined for the first time. The ship was approximately 18 metres long and probably sank in the second half of the 17th century. The date of the wreck's sinking is partly based on the year 1664 found on a piece of lead cloth seal. A number of military-related finds, including a hearth plate with a Roman soldier and a miniature cannon, are possible indications of the skipper's military background.
