Notes: In 1975, the wreck of a cargo ship was investigated in the vicinity of Lelystad and excavated in 2011. Dendrochronological research indicated that the wood had been felled in the second half of the 16th century. (Year of construction probably 1554 based on dendrochronology). It turned out to be a medium-sized cargo ship (L: 16.6 x W: 5.6 x H: approx. 2 metres), which was active in shipping on the Baltic Sea, among other places. The inventory included a small amount of weaponry, which may have belonged to an armed escort to protect the ship and crew from attacks by sea pirates.
