Notes: Found at the Kuinderschans. The Kuinre Schans (1581) is one of the Schansen (fortifications) of the Frisian Waterline. They were constructed during the Eighty Years' War (1568-1648). The function of the Kuinderschans was to block passage across the Zuiderzeedijk and attacks from the water.
