Notes: This Bartmann jug was retrieved from one of the lakes in Landsmeer, Netherlands in approximately 1980. Note that stylistically, the facemask is almost identical to a Bartmann found at the 1656 wreck site of the Vergulde Draeck by Steve Caffery GDRG. (Also note that the apotropaic contents shown at the base of the jug in the photo were NOT found in the jug; they are modern recreations for educational purposes.)
