Notes: During the excavation in 2018, the Groningen Institute of Archaeology discovered a medium-sized 18th-century merchant ship near Rutten (NK 47-II). The ship was built in the Netherlands around 1705 and later probably sailed under the English flag. A large amount of ship's inventory, cargo, rigging and personal belongings were found. The cargo came from the Mediterranean region. The finds suggest that this was a Straatvaarder that sank between 1715 and 1720. The name of the ship is unknown, but two spoons found with the portrait of Queen Anne of Great Britain gave the wreck the nickname “Queen Anne”.
